Student membership of the British Cupping Society (SBCS) is awarded to students registered for a healthcare professional’s council (HCPC) approved degree, or studying Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Dentistry.

Members of the British Cupping Society (MBCS) are health professionals certified by the BCS and deemed competent in the practice of cupping.
MBCS’ must have demonstrated a sound knowledge of the practice of cupping as well as the clinical skills necessary to practice cupping competently and safely. Thereafter they will be deemed Members of the British Cupping Society (MBCS). MBCS’ are expected to engage in developments in cupping and working in line with BCS policies and procedures.

Requirements
- Successful completion of BCS ‘Medical Cupping Therapy Workshop’
- Submission of case portfolio within 12 months of initial registration
- Other professions may be considered subject to BCS approval
- Registration with Medical, Dental, Healthcare professionals Council (HCPC) or equivalent professional registration body:
- Curriculum vitae with character and clinical reference.
- Criminal records clearance (DBS)
- Satisfactory health clearance
- Annual BCS membership fee and CPD requirement of 15 hours.
A Fellow of the British Cupping Society (FBCS) is awarded in recognition of a significant contribution to the field of cupping therapy in the aspects of delivery of safe clinical practice, teaching, training and contribution to research. In addition, FBCS may be awarded to individuals who have made significant other contributions leading to the promotion of cupping therapy.

Requirements
- Must be a MBCS or of distinguished position in the field of Cupping Therapy
- Completed a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in cupping and completion of CPD requirements
- Demonstrated all or one of the following
- Publication of literature related to cupping therapy in an international journal.
- Presentation of clinical or academic research at an international conference related to cupping therapy
- Promotion of cupping therapy through organizing or sponsorship of evidence based cupping therapy events, professional lobbying and medico-legal support
- Demonstrate participation in the teaching and training of cupping therapy on courses, workshops, seminars and educational meetings endorsed by BCS
- Satisfactory clinical and academic references
- Endorsement by board of trustees of BCS
- Annual membership fee and CPD requirement of 15 hours
